The SSA teachers’ delegation could not meet Chief Minister Conrad Sangma or the Education Minister Rakkam Sangma who are out of station.

Paul listened to their grievances and wanted them to meet Advisor to Education Department HM Shangpliang.

The teachers, in the copy of the memorandum submitted to Paul, said they launched a state-wide sit-in-(day and night) at Malki playground, Shillong  from October 1 since the government did not respond to their demands; to which the association had set 30 September 2024 as a deadline to hike the SSA teachers’ salary by 100% from the current amount of salary.

They had submitted their last memorandum on September 12.

“On the above note, the Association humbly requests your honour to address our grievances at the earliest, as the sit-in-demonstration has reached the ninth day and the teachers growing impatience day by day”, the memorandum said.
