Ambulance service workers demand salary hike

Shillong, Aug 11: Workers of emergency ambulance service have urged Mission Director of National Health Mission (NHM) Ramakrishna Chitturi to look into their salary increment which has been pending.

108 workers under the banner of the Meghalaya EMRI Workers’ Union (MEMRIWU), have pointed out the difficulties faced by the workers in meeting their daily requirements due to the high cost of living.

They pointed out that salary enhancement of Rs 5,000 each was already discussed during a meeting held between the union and the Mission Director on May 27, 2025.
