Shillong, Oct 4:The Cherry Blossom Festival has unveiled Thomas Wesley Pentz, professionally Diplo, as the Electronic Dance Music (EDM) headliner for Day 2.
As a three-time Grammy Award winner and one of the most sought-after producers in the music industry, and one among the top 10 most-streamed DJs of all time, Diplo has electrifying beats and energy, the organisers said in a statement.
Day 1 of the festival will see Jason Derulo and The Script set to perform, accompanied by special guest Norah Fatehi.
According to the organisers, the Cherry Blossom Festival’s meteoric rise to fame was evident last year when it surpassed major Indian festivals and concerts, including Sunburn and Martin Garrix’s India tour, by bagging 4 Gold Awards at Wow Asia, including Festival of the Year and Entertainment Event of the Year.
