Ampareen for improving facilities in Shillong Civil Hospital

Shillong, Oct 16: Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh stressed the need of improving the facilities in Shillong Civil Hospital
The minister visited the hospital and held a review meeting on Monday.
An official statement in this regard said that it was decided that the hospital requires immediate intervention and the engineering wing has been instructed to prepare a project for the purpose.
Contractual staff discontinues service
Additionally, the contractual staff at the Civil Hospital, particularly those recently discontinued under the emergency staff category, need immediate attention due to the vital facilities in the dialysis unit, the operation theater unit, and the blood bank unit, which require urgent replacement to ensure the hospital’s efficient operation.
Hostel facilities for nurses
The Medical Superintendent and the Surgeon Superintendent of Civil Hospital also informed the minister about the immediate need for hostel facilities for nurses and the necessity to expand trauma centers and ICU to meet the hospital’s urgent requirements. The minister assured that she will take up these with the competent authorities to find the best solutions to address the deficiencies and ensure efficient functioning of Civil Hospital, Shillong.
