Shillong, Nov 20: Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh has asked Meghalaya Accredited Social Health Activist Workers Union (MASHAWU) for talks on November 22.
“The minister in-charge health and family welfare has called a meeting with the office functionaries of the MASHAWU on November 22 in her office chamber in connection with the cease from work by ASHA workers,” said a letter issued on Monday by the department to the Union.

The response was following the decision of the ASHAs to intensify their agitation by announcing a protest march to the secretariat on November 27 to enhance the honorarium to Rs 5,000 from Rs 2,000.
Earlier, a peace rally was held on Friday participated by hundreds of ASHA workers.
