With regard to the ongoing CBI case, she said the matter is currently before trial in a court of law. The allegations which the CBI raised are yet to be proven in a court of law, she added.

“I have full faith in the judicial system of this country, and will defend my innocence before the judicial court. Since the case is sub-judice, it would be improper for me to comment on the case further”, she said.

As far as the criminal antecedents of Pathaw is concerned, it was reported in the past that the CBI had registered a case against him and two officials from NEIGRIHMS for their alleged collusion with Pathaw for not releasing the Employees Provident Fund (EPF).

The NPP candidate from North Tura, Thomas is facing a rape charge.

However, the NPP defended the choice of the candidates by saying that the charges were not proved in court.
