Appeal to provide information on missing girl

Shillong, Aug 25: Meghalaya police have appealed to people to provide information regarding a girl who has gone missing from Eastern West Khasi Hills.
The police have also released the photograph of the girl in this regard.

PRESS RELEASE
“On 18th August, 2025 received a written complaint at Mairang Police Station to the effect that Miss Ribaiahun Marngar (17 Years) from Permadan Village, Eastern West Khasi Hills District had gone missing on 15/8/2025 at around 10 am from a shop where she worked at Permadan village. The girl is suspected to have been kidnapped by Shri Thomborlang Sohphoh of Umdum village and till date their whereabouts are not known. However efforts have been made to trace the missing girl and in this connection a Case has been registered vide Mairang PS Case No 81(8)2025 u/s 137(1)(b)(2) BHARATIYA NYAYA SANHITA (BNS), 2023 and investigation is ongoing.
Description of the Missing person:
1. Age 17 years, white complexion, Height 5 Feet, Black Long Hair
2. She was last seen wearing a white coloured blouse having black printed stars, brown Khasi traditional “Jainkyrshah” with white stripe and black pant.
