Shillong, June 1: VPP president Ardent Basaiawmoit ended his hunger strike on Thursday after getting the notification on the expert committee to review the state reservation policy.
The decision came after his strike entered the 10th day on Thursday.

Earlier in the day, Law minister and the chairperson of the committee on roster/reservation Ampareen Lyngdoh announced the notification of the expert committee.
Ardent announced the decision to end the fasting and stressed the need of transparency in the recruitment process by the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) and opposed back door appointments.
