The limited edition Hublot watch was stolen in Dubai

Guwahati, Dec 11 (UNI): In a big haul, Assam police has recovered a stolen luxury watch that allegedly belonged to late football legend Diego Maradona.
Assam Police, in coordination with the Dubai Police, has recovered a stolen luxury watch belonging to late Diego Maradona, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed via Twitter on Saturday.
The accused, identified as Wazid Hussein, has been arrested in Assam and further legal action will be taken, he said.
He said the Assam Police coordinated with the Dubai Police through Indian federal law enforcement agencies to recover the heritage Hublot watch that belonged to the Argentinian football player.
Sarma wrote on Twitter, “In an act of international cooperation, Assam Police has coordinated with Dubai Police through Indian federal LEA to recover a heritage Hublot watch belonging to legendary footballer late Diego Maradona and arrested one Wazid Hussein. Follow up lawful action is being taken.”
On receiving input from Dubai Police through a central agency, the Assam Police arrested the accused at 4 am on Saturday from his residence in Sivasagar, the Director-General of Police informed.
The accused allegedly stole the limited edition Hublot watch signed by Maradona when he worked as a security guard for a company that was storing the late football player’s belongings in Dubai. He then purportedly fled to Assam in August this year.
“Costly Hublot watch…Maradona..Dubai Assam like random words, don’t they? But today all these words came together nicely, stating a story of successful international cooperation between Dubai and Assam police,” Assam Director General of Police Bhaskarjyoi Mahanta tweeted.
