Assam to give Covaxin, oxygen cylinders to Meghalaya

Shillong, May 19: Assam will give 100 doses of Covaxin and oxygen cylinders to Meghalaya.

This was assured to Chief Minister Conrad Sangma by his Assam counterpart Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday during a consultation meeting via video conference.

“Assam will give 100 doses of Covaxin to Meghalaya and also D type cylinders,” Sangma informed.

The duo discussed on cooperation and support which can be extended as the country is unitedly working to defeat corona virus.

Sangma thanked Himanta for the support being extended by Assam government to provide oxygen to Meghalaya.

The chief minister has requested further cooperation from Assam, in case of any eventuality.

Assam chief minister assured the Meghalaya government to provide all necessary support to combat Covid.

Sarma also assured coordination from Assam and requested support from the Meghalaya government to ensure transportation of goods.

Assam government is also sending a proposal to the Centre to make Assam the oxygen logistic hub for NE states.

Sarma has requested the Meghalaya government to back the proposal.
