
Shillong, Nov 18: Police registered a case of attempt to murder against the NEHU security guard Parmein M Sangma for causing injury to two NEHU students.
This is in addition to other charges under the MotorĀ Vehicles Act.
The sections are 281/125B/109/324(3) of BNS read with sections 183/184/285 of MV Act.
The seriously injured girl students are undergoing treatment at Nazareth Hospital.
The incident took place on Monday evening
The North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) has lodged an FIR and sought a detailed report into the incident.
“The University strongly condemns the reckless driving that resulted in this tragic event. An FIR has been filed, and the concerned section of the University has been instructed to prepare and submit a detailed report at the earliest,” NEHU said in a statement issued on Tuesday.
