Bangladeshi infiltrators working in Chennai held in GH border
Shillong, Oct 3: After the recent detection of 11 infiltrators, the BSF apprehended 5 more in West Garo Hills.
The five persons were returning to Bangladesh after coming from Chennai.
According to a statement of the BSF, the troops of the BSF apprehended 5 Bangladeshi nationals traveling in an auto rickshaw from the Dalu side towards Purakhasia on October 2.
The patrolling party of the BSF observed an auto rickshaw halting some distance away from where the troops were performing duty. Five suspected Bangladeshi nationals got out and attempted to flee. The troops chased them and successfully apprehended them.
It was later known that they had come from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, where they were working in a garment factory and had intended to illegally cross into Bangladesh. The apprehended individuals were handed over to Dalu police station, West Garo Hills
