Shillong, Jan 24: Foundation stones for three roads leading to New Shillong Township were laid on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong laid the foundation for the construction of road from Lumshyiap Bellafonte to New Shillong Township at Umsawli via Mawpat ( Rs 49 crore), construction including MBT of road from Bribah Mawpat to IAS Colony Umsawli (Rs 55 crore) and improvement including widening to 2-Lane standard of balance length of Shillong Diengpasoh Road from 14 km to 21.20 km (27.49 crore).

The chief minister said the government hopes to complete the shifting of Secretariat Complex to the New Shillong Township within three years.
