Bhaichung promises NE state leagues if named AIFF head

Gangtok, Aug 31 (UNI): Padmashree Bhaichung Bhutia, canvassing through a written appeal, has assured ‘ conducting a separate state-level North Eastern League,’ after he is victorious as the President’s post in All India Football Federation.

He has promised Rs 30-50 lakh to every state for conducting grassroots leagues and state leagues.

According to him, he will be helping State Associations about all the football-related matters. He further promised to support State level players for Coach programme, to produce many more local Coaches.

Bhaichung has requested the NE States to support his candidature as the proud son of the North East.

‘NER being the hub of Indian Football, it is high time for them to lead the Federation. I believe I am the best for this job, confident of having knowledge, experience and vision to lead the AIFF and deliver on the job,” said Bhaichung Bhutia, reiterating the need to keep free of political pressures.
