Shillong, April 1: A team from the Special Cell, East Khasi Hills arrested three bike thieves and two helpers from 101Area in the wee hours on Tuesday.
The accused have been identified as Timus Warbah(30), Babar Mawblei(26), Synraplang Makri(23 ), all from Jirang, Ri Bhoi and their helpers Meaibor Kharryjja (26) from Sohlap Shella and Bakordor Rapmai (24) of Jatap Shella.

The helpers used to hand over the stolen bikes to the buyers in Bangladesh.
The vehicle used by them to move around the city to scout for bikes parked on the road side, has been seized. A KTM bike stolen early in the morning of March 31 from Malki was also recovered from their possession .
