Speaking to reporters on Friday, Lanong, who has been preparing to contest from Nongkrem, said he is determined to contest as independent candidate as he was denied ticket by the president and general secretary of the UDP besides one or two members in the committee.

“I am the original man, I was there since the formation of the UDP,  the president, general secretary and others came later”, Lanong said, while expressing unhappiness over the party neglecting him.

He also predicted the fall of those who denied ticket to him.

‘Ticket scam with business men’

Lanong flayed the UDP president and general secretary for giving preference to businessmen and termed it as a ticket scam.

“You threw out a disciplined soldier of the party, whether it is in Umsning, Nongkrem or any other places, the election committee engaged in ticket allotment scam”, he said.

According to Lanong, the business people‏ should concentrate in business.

“I can predict, maximum to be fair, the UDP will not even win in 10 seats”, he added.
