
Shillong, June 14:The BJP on Saturday said the party is not shying away from pursuing ILP and illegal coal mining.
BJP state president Rikman G Momin told reporters that the party is not shying away from pursuing with the Centre for implementation of ILP.
BJP state general secretary Wankitbok Pohshna said the party will make public its findings on the alleged illegal coal mining in the state.
Speaking to reporters, Pohshna said the 10 member- fact finding committee has already submitted its preliminary report to the party three weeks ago.
“It is a lengthy report. Let see we will let the people know of what has been found internally,” he said.
Pohshna said the party is waiting for certain facts to be verified by the committee.
“Certain things are pending. The convener of the committee has asked not to come out unless and until few facts are being submitted. We are waiting for the convener to give his take on it,” he said.
On ILP related issue, Momin said the party will go according to local demands
According to him, the party has taken up the matter with the Centre.
The state general secretary Wankitbok said infact the state Assembly had already passed a resolution urging the Centre for implementation of the ILP.
