Shillong, Feb 5: A blast was reported from Thangsko village in East Jaintia Hills, on Thursday.
Police confirmed the incident but added that investigation was on to ascertain the nature of the blast.

The probe is also on whether the incident is related to coal mining.
Sources said that the dynamite blast went wrong resulting in the death of several coal mine workers in a some mines.
Earlier, following a similar incident in the same area resulting in two deaths, the Meghalaya Human Rights Commission and the high-court appointed commitee headed by retired Judge BP Katakey had sought reports.
