Shillong, Aug 4: The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) recovered the body of an elderly man from the Umshing river below a bridge connecting the Mawlai-Mawiong Byepass at Mawlai Umshing area, on Monday.
A team of the SDRF led by Inspector Romario B Marak reached the spot at 9:15 am and recovered the body within 15 minutes, said a statement issued by the SDRF.
The body was later handed over to the police.

According to sources , the body has been identified as that of Mihpli Lyngdoh, a resident of Mawlai Umjapung.
