Shillong, Nov 17: A book on Swami Vivekananda “Swami Vivekananda and Shillong’ authored and published by Malabika Bisharad, was released at Shillong Press Club on Thursday afternoon jointly by teachers, professors, poets and writers.
The book was released by poet Daya Sharma, teacher Manikuntala Choudhury, Secretary Sarada Samiti Shillong Sati Bhattacharjee, Secretary of All India Poetess Conference (AIPC ) Minimon Laloo, writer Manjushree Ghosh, Prof Dr Aparna Chakraborty along with the author. The book contains Swami Vivekananda’s visit to East Bengal and Shillong, his everlasting impact in Khasi – Jaintia Hills, establishment of Ramakrishna Mission and initiatives taken to save the sacred site at Laban visited and stayed by Swami Vivekananda in April,1901.
Swami Suvirananda Maharaj GS RKM, HQ Belur Math and Secretary RKM Shillong Swami Hitakamananda Maharaj had earlier extended their wishes to the author.
