Border talks between CMs on Aug 21

Shillong, Aug 19: Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong on Friday informed that the second phase of border meeting between the chief ministers of both Assam and Meghalaya to resolve the six areas of difference will be held on Sunday.

“On August 21, the chief minister Conrad Sangma will return from Tura and after reaching Guwahati, our chief minister will meet Assam CM to discuss as to how to go ahead with the second phase of border talks and after that the regional committees will be formed to carry forward the task”, Tynsong told reporters.

Earlier in March this year, Assam and Meghalaya signed a border pact to resolve the first six areas of difference but the decision was not free from criticism.
