Shillong, June 17: A BSF jawan was killed on Friday due to landslide when a portion of a hillock came down to his barrack in South West Khasi Hills.
The victim has been identified as Satish Kumar Singh of F Coy, 170 BN BSF.

According to police, the incident occurred around 12.40 pm at Lalghat BOP near Borsora Check Post.
Police said others in the barrack were unhurt.
PHE minister Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar, who is the chairman of the panel to monitor the situation, said that many areas were cut off due to landslide.
“An important area is Munraw under Ranikor Block which requires time to restore”, he said.
Tongkhar visited the area (in picture) on Friday.
