BSF releases 11 Bangla intruders
Goodwill gesture on 50 years of Bangladesh Liberation War
Shillong, Dec 11: On the occasion of 50 years of Bangladesh Liberation War, exhibiting goodwill gesture and mutual cooperation with special emphasis on the well-being of border populations of both the countries, the BSF, Meghalaya Frontier has handed over 11 Bangladeshi intruders to the neighbouring country in 2021.
Speaking to reporters on Saturday, the BSF IG, Inderjeet Singh Rana (in picture) said both the border guarding forces also agreed to look into each others’ perspective on border problems with an open mind and to increase sharing of actionable intelligence to curb trans-border crimes. The recently concluded BSF-BGB region commanders’ border co-ordination conference held in Shillong, from November 27 to 29 showed the commitment of both the border guarding forces of the two countries to maintain the sanctity of the border and sort out all border related issues at various levels of border meetings through mutual dialogue.
He said the joint cultural programme on the occasion of 50th anniversary of Bangladesh Liberation War at ICP Dawki on December 13 will be another gesture to improve the relations between both the border guarding forces.
