Shillong,Aug 19: The bust of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose & and the glass frame of Swami Vivekananda’s statue were vandalised in RR Colony during the KSU-sponsored bike rally on Wednesday (Aug 19) evening.
According to the eyewitnesses and the CCTV footage, a few pillion riders were seen deboarding the bikes, removing the bust of Netaji in front of the office of RR Colony Welfare Society, throwing and kicking it on the road.
Earlier, the thick glass frame of Swami Vivekananda at the Vivekananda Park was damaged after a stone was thrown.

This act of vandalism on the statue of Swami Vivekananda, the great religious leader of our country, recognised and respected all over the world, and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, the great freedom fighter of India, is really uncalled for”.
