Cabinet nod to Police Accountability Commission
PW Ingty chairman & VR Syiem member of the panel
Shillong, Feb 16: The state government has decided to form the Police Accountability Commission.
The cabinet on Monday took a decision in this regard.

Speaking to reporters after the cabinet meeting, the government spokesperson, Wailadmiki Shylla, said that while the retired IAS official PW Ingty will be the chairman of the committee, another retired official, VR Syiem, will be a member.
The state government was compelled to form the commission following the order of the High Court of Meghalaya based on the PIL filed by Nilberth Ch Marak
and Flaming B. Marak through their lawyer PT Sangma.
