“This decision pertains to nearly 1,000 nurses who were appointed on an ad hoc basis against sanctioned posts prior to December 2007. Although these appointments were made against approved positions, they had not been regularised until now”, he said.

According to the chief minister, a similar situation arose in 2022, when the government regularised over 3,000 employees who had also been appointed on an ad hoc basis against sanctioned posts. That decision was guided by the  Supreme Court’s ruling, which allowed regularisation for employees appointed before 2008 under such conditions.

The cabinet  held a detailed discussion on the various recommendations outlined in the report and has directed the education department to examine the proposals and prepare a set of actionable steps, along with a clear roadmap for implementation.
