Shillong, Feb 2: The cabinet on Friday extended the tenure of KHADC and JHADC to six months from March.
The cabinet took the decision since the process of delimitation of councils is still on and the delimitation panels had sought six months.

Deputy Chief Minister in-charge District Council Affairs Prestone Tynsong announced the decision.
Polls can be held only after the KHADC constituencies are delimited.
Last elections to both KHADC and JHADC were held on February 27, 2019 and votes were counted on March 2.
