Cabinet relaxes upper age limit of SSA teachers to 45
Shillong, Oct 23: The cabinet on Wednesday relaxed the upper age limit for SSA teachers, who passed MTET for recruitment in goverment LP, UP or secondary and higher secondary schools. The government has approved the upper age limit to 45 years, under which the serving SSA teachers will be able to participate in the recruitment examinations advertised by the government of Meghalaya.
This was informed by Education Minister Rakkam Sangma after the cabinet meeting at Resubelpara, North Garo Hills as part of the ‘Cabinet on the Move’ initiative of the government.
Loan from Asian Development Bank
The cabinet also approved to avail loan from Asian Development Bank for implementation of the project – Support Human Capital Development in Meghalaya – Phase – II. 90 percent of the loan amount will be sanctioned as a grant to the state, which will be repaid by the centre and 10 percent of the loan amount will be borne by the state.
Rules to regulate rent in govt quarters
Cabinet also gave nod to the rules to regulate rental house, allotment of government quarters, rental housing scheme of the employees of the state government . It will also enable the Housing Department to take charge of their assets, evaluate, wherever necessary and take necessary decision regarding the creation of additional rooms and other infrastructure facilities.
