Shillong: The Catholic Association of Shillong (CAS) on Tuesday called on Governor Phagu Chauhan at Raj Bhavan and handed over a memorandum addressed to the President of India, requesting immediate intervention to restore peace and harmony in Manipur.
The delegation consisted of J A Lyngdoh, CAS president, and Ronnie V Lyngdoh, vice president, among others, and representatives from the youth and women organisations.

The memorandum was adopted at the peace rally organised by CAS in collaboration with the Meghalaya Church Leaders Forum and the Khasi and Jaintia Christian Leaders Forum (KJCLF) on August 5.
