Centenary celebration of Unitarian Church Nongthymmai held

Shillong, July 1: The year-long centenary celebration of the Unitarian Church Nongthymmai, Shillong concluded on Saturday. The local MDC Latiplang Kharkongor released a commemorative souvenir on the occasion.

The function was attended by headmen of Nongthymmai, church leaders, leaders of the Unitarian Union of North East India and hundreds of Unitarian faithful and well wishers. Those who addressed the gathering included M. Passah, president of the UUNEI Rev. Derrick P Pariat, the Parish Minister of Unitarian Church Nongthymmai and  KL  Nongbri, Secretary of the congregation, among others. Rev. Pariat urged the audience to continue serving the weaker section in the society and try to spread the good news of the Unitarian Church. The theme of the  celebration was “Shaphrang ngin nang jam: jingshai ban Sam. “We continue moving forward to share our light.”

Speaking as Chief Guest, Latiplang Kharkongor lauded the yeoman service rendered by Unitarian Church Nongthymmai and urged the members to continue serving humanity well.
