Centre exempts CUET in Meghalaya

Shillong, May 29: The Centre has exempted CUET in Meghalaya.

“Happy to inform our students that admissions to affiliated colleges to Central University’s in Meghalaya have been exempted from CUET for this academic year. I thank @dpradhanbjp ji for his continuous support and understanding”, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma wrote on X.

The chief minister also posted an order in this regard but there was no signature.

The students (in picture) had faced a lot of hardships while appearing for the CUET at NEHU.

Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma on Wednesday said forty to fifty percent of the class XII passed students have not registered for Common University Entrance Test – Under Graduate (CUET-UG) held recently in the state.

“About 6,000 to 7000 students appeared for CUET-UG but many did not register. 40-50% of class XII passed students did not register for the CUET examination this year. This may be due to lack of communication, lack of awareness but I would advise my students to keep themselves updated and know what is happening in the country…,” Sangma said.
