Shillong, Nov 12: The Centre has released fifteenth finance commission grants worth Rs 27 crore to the three district councils of the state.
This is the first installment of untied grants for the financial year 2021-22.

The fund is from the Ministry of Panchayati Raj for the continued impetus on empowerment of rural local bodies.
The untied fund is aimed at addressing location specific needs.
The 15th finance commission held a meeting here with the state government recently.
