“We are working closely with the government of India to address these issues,” Sangma said.

The chief minister stressed the importance of optical fibre connectivity, stating that the government plans to use MeECL towers and poles to provide last-mile connectivity to districts, blocks, schools, health departments, and government offices within the next two years.

Sangma said the PRIME programme has helped over 5,000 entrepreneurs, and the government aims to expand this further.

“There is a need to combine efforts across departments to avoid duplication and make data-driven decisions,” he said.

Sangma emphasised the importance of inter-departmental coordination.

“Departments need to talk to each other… that’s how we align the thought process and actions and outcomes of different departments,” he added.
