Shillong, Oct 8: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, who is camping in Garo Hills, held a series of review meetings after visiting areas of natural calamity and directed the officials to conduct a study of rivers,water bodies and the flood-prone areas.

This is for flood mitigation and to undertake flood management initiatives to avoid such damages to life and property in the future.
15 people died in rain-induced flood and landslide in several districts of Garo Hills.
The chief minister also directed immediate repair of roads and bridges and sufficient supply of essentials to the affected population.
