Shillong, June 4: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Wednesday launched Meghalinor, state’s first sailing yacht on the breathtaking Umiam Lake.
This marks a significant step forward in state’s experiential tourism initiative, offering visitors a unique and unforgettable way to take in the natural beauty of the state, Conrad said.
“We are committed to working with other Northeastern states to build a vibrant tourism circuit, enabling travelers to fully explore the diverse landscapes and rich cultures our region has to offer’, he added.
He said with Meghalaya set to host the National Games in 2027, there is immense potential in promoting water sports.
“The strong performance of our athletes at the recent National Games inspires us to invest in training and infrastructure that will support and empower our youth”, he said.
