CM-led cabinet delegation in Delhi to discuss ILP & other issues

Team to meet HM at 6 pm, PM on Tuesday

Shillong, Aug 7: A state cabinet delegation led by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma is camping in New Delhi to pursue the pending issues, including ILP, Khasi-Garo language recognition and MRSSA..

Cabinet Minister Paul Lyngdoh, who was speaking at the National Handloom Day celebrations at National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Mawdiangdiang informed the gathering about the cabinet delegation’s visit to Delhi to take up the pending issues.

The minister said he could not accompany the delegation due to the importance of the handloom day event in the city.

An official source said the delegation has already met Union Helath Minister and Lok Sabha Speaker.

Appointment of the delegation with Home Minister Amit Shah is at 6 pm on Monday, the source added.

The delegation will meet the Prime Minister on Tuesday.

Medical education 

The source added that the delegation took up the problems of state medical students in RIMS- Imphal due to the ongoing unrest in Manipur.

The union health minister assured to arrange facilities in Guwahati and NEIGRIHMS for the medical students to pursue their studies after the matter was taken up by the delegation , the source added.

Increase of state quota in medical institutions in the country and improvement of  health centres were also taken up.

Today, we met Hon’ble Union Health Minister to request for an additional 75 Sub Health Centers for the state which will serve as Health & Wellness Centers for proactive healthcare in line with the vision of Hon’ble PM & the PM ABHIM Scheme”, the chief minister tweeted.
