CM meets union home secretary for HNLC talks

Shillong,Feb 16: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma met the union home secretary and other officials of the ministry of home affairs in New Delhi on Wednesday and discussed the letter of HNLC for peace talks within the framework of the constitution.

The chief minister said in a video statement that it is a positive development and futher discussions will take place on the matter with the MHA

Earlier, the state government had shortlisted the names of the interlocutors and the chief minister discussed the matter with the MHA.

Speed up process: Ampareen

The CLP leader Ampareen Lyngdoh has asked the MDA government to ensure that the peace talks with HNLC is materialized at the earliest.

Speaking to reporters, Lyngdoh said that peace talks with the HNLC is the long pending dreams of the people of Khasi and Jaintia Hills region.

“We can lend support and lend ideas to ensuring that this peace talks materialises productively, we will give him all our support”, she added.
