Shillong, Dec 14: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Thursday sought financial help from Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi for the new secretariat in new Shillong Township.
Conrad also met Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to sanction more externally aided projects.
According to Conrad, the prime minister assured all possible support to the Meghalaya government for achieving its targets and goals which include setting up of the administrative city at the new Shillong township in the next five years.
The chief minister apprised the prime minister about more budget allocated by the state government for development works.
The chief minister urged the union finance minister to increase the ceiling of External Aided Projects (EAPs) and give additional projects to Meghalaya based on its good performances as the Centre had put a cap on EAPs.
