Shillong, Nov 23: NPP candidate and Chief Minister Conrad Sangma’s wife Mehtab Chandee Agitok Sangma won the bypoll to Gambegre seat, on Saturday after the votes were counted.
Mehtab won the seat by a margin of 4594 votes by defeating her next rival Sadhiarani Sangma of All India Trinamool Congress.
Jingjang Marak of the Congress secured third position.
