College of Teachers Education to extend last date of form submission

Shillong, May 26: The Director of Higher and Technical Education, Ambrose Ch Marak, on Friday directed the College of Teachers Education (PGT) here to increase the number of application forms and extend the last date for submission of the same for admission in B.Ed for 2023-24.

The direction comes after a delegation of the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) met Marak and requested his intervention in addressing the problems of students aspiring to enrol in the PGT college.

Students had to stand in queue from midnight till the office opened in the morning to get the application forms yet the majority are still being deprived.

“Due to this problem, the union was compelled to demand the College to increase the numbers of application forms from 500 to 1,000 and to also extend the last date for submission of the application forms,” KSU education secretary Pynkmenlang Sanmiet said in a statement.

“The director has assured the delegation to direct the College authority to increase the number of application forms as well as extending the last date for submission of the same,” he said.
