Concern over price hike, shortage of LPG cylinders
Mahila Cong protests in Shillong & Nongstoin

Shillong, March 17: The Meghalaya Pradesh Mahila Congress, under the leadership of Joplyn Scott Shylla, held a protest at Motphran and Nongstoin bazaar to condemn the recent price hike and the shortage of LPG gas cylinders in the state, on March 16.
The Mahila Congress highlighted that the rising prices and irregular supply of gas cylinders have severely affected ordinary families, restaurants, and hotels across the state. Women, who manage household kitchens, are facing immense hardship due to the increasing cost and unavailability of LPG.

During the protest, the leaders and members of the Mahila Congress demanded that the Government immediately intervene to control the rising prices and ensure the regular supply of LPG cylinders so that people do not continue to suffer.
The President reiterated that access to affordable cooking gas is a basic necessity and urged the authorities to take urgent action to address the crisis.
