Shillong, Aug 13: NPP leader Rakkam Sangma has said the Congress had nexus with the BJP in the Lok Sabha polls in Tura as revealed by BJP Tura MDC Bernard Marak.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, the education minister said it was upto the NPP high command to discuss the issue and take necessary steps.
According to media reports quoting Bernard, Saleng should thank the BJP for not fielding a candidate in the election. “He should be grateful that even I did not contest as Independent. I fail to understand why he speaks against BJP, when BJP has supported him for his victory”, Bernard had said.
These statements have come in view of upcoming Gambegre bypoll as NPP and BJP are contesting separately.
Rakkam said NPP is supporting BJP for central assistance.
