Shillong, March 10: Brigady Marak and George N Sangma from the Congress filed their nominations in North Garo Hills whereas Independents Kismet Sangma and Jonah Marak filed papers in West Garo Hills, on March 10.
In a related development, Opposition Leader Mukul Sangma lodged a complaint with the police regarding misuse of his name by Esmatur Mominin.
The FIR said towards the end of the speech of Mominin as shown in a video Mukul’s name along with two other public figures have been taken as having given tacit approval for the filing of the Nomination of Mominin thereby also implying the approval of non-tribals to participate in the District Council Elections which is untrue as no such discussion had occurred nor approval.
VPP & FKJGP supports Garos
In separate statements, the VPP and the FKJGP extended support to the Garos, who according to them are fighting for a legitimate cause.
