Shillong, June 20: Congress MDCs PN Syiem (Mawkhar-Pynthorumkhrah) and Carness Sohshang (Mawkyrwat) will be part of the new Executive Committee led by Pyniaid Sing Syiem.
The new KHADC CEM submitted the list of executive members of the Congress backed NPP-led Khasi Hills Democratic Front (KHDF) in the Council to the Governor Phagu Chauhan for his approval.
Pyniaid said the post of deputy chief executive member and one post of executive member will go to the Congress.
The KHADC can have a total of 11 members in the EC, including the CEM.
This means 9 members in the EC will be from the NPP.
The name of former KHADC CEM PN Syiem has been proposed to be the new deputy CEM of the Council, the CEM said.
The KHADC chief said those who are not in the EC will be accommodated as chairmen of the various advisory committees, which will be reconstituted to make recommendations to the EC on various issues.
Congress MDC from Mawhati Charles Marngar will be elected unopposed as the new deputy chairman of the KHADC after NPP MDC from Mawsynram Alvin Khyriem Sawkmie resigned from the post on Monday.
