Cong ready for LS, Council polls: Pala

Shillong, Oct 19: MPCC president and Shillong MP Vincent Pala said the party is prepared for the upcoming Lok Sabha and council elections.

“We are ready to face the election whether it is going to be held in February or whether it is going to be held at any time. This will all depend on the government how to go about it”, Pala told reporters after attending the State Youth Congress Convention organized by the Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress (MPYC) .

The party will write to all the blocks to speed up the process of sending their recommendations as far as candidates for the upcoming elections to the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council and Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council are concerned.

AICC confident 

AICC general secretary in-charge Meghalaya Manish Chatrath expressed confidence to win both Shillong and Tura parliamentary seats..

He criticised the NPP-led MDA government for failing to deliver its promises made to the people of the state.

“I think it is going to be a change as far as Lok Sabha elections are concerned and we are confident both the seats we will win,” Chatrath told reporters.
