Shillong, Dec 11: The Congress has not decided on the candidate for the Tura parliamentary seat.
“We haven’t talked about it with our president. The Congress has not decided not only about Tura but even for other parts of India also,” said Congress MLA Saleng Sangma who is also the opposition chief whip.
Saleng also refused to reply to a question that his name has been doing the rounds that he would be the official candidate of the Congress from Tura.
“Right now I cannot comment on that one. Though I am MLA, I am responsible leader so I have to look after the affairs of the party and then for the people only as of now,” he said.
On other political parties, which have already declared their candidates from both Shillong and Tura, Saleng said, “It is not about delay but if party any party has already approved the names for Tura and Shillong it doesn’t mean that other parties have to follow, it is their own agenda and own style”.
