
Shillong, Aug 16: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma met his Assam counterpart, Himanta Biswa Sarma, in Guwahati on Saturday.
After the meeting, both the chief ministers shared about it on social media.
Conrad stated that he was pleased to connect with the Assam Chief Minister for a fruitful discussion on ‘deepening the bonds between our sister states and exploring avenues for greater collaboration’.
Similarly, Himanta said, “Today, in Guwahati, I had an excellent discussion with the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Meghalaya. We discussed a wide gamut of issues to strengthen the mutual growth of both our sister states”.
However, the details of the meeting are yet to be divulged by both the chief ministers, though the contentious issues include frequent incursions on the Assam-Meghalaya border, entry of illegal immigrants, issues concerning USTM, among others.
