Conrad says NPP is united amid BJP’s expansion move

Shillong, Sept 15: Amid BJP’s expansion move in the state, the NPP national president, Conrad Sangma said on Tuesday (Sept 15), that it is united and no one is deserting the party.
The central BJP leaders are in talks with 9 MLAs of the UDP for a merger.
When asked whether the NPP is intact, the chief minister asserted that the party  is united and intact with 33 MLAs and is working hard to win the upcoming Shillong Lok Sabha bypoll and the GHADC polls.
“The NPP is absolutely united. The Deputy CM ( Sniawbhalang Dhar) spoke on behalf of the NPP that day, and he gave a very clear picture that we are working together. Our number is 33; we are very much united and working very hard, not just for this government, but ensuring that the party grows more in the days to come,” he said.
Brushing aside rumours that he will join the BJP,  Dhar addressed a press conference at last week that the NPP was united.
