Shillong, March 2: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma will meet the Governor on Friday to stake claim for the formation of an NPP-led government.
BJP has already supported the NPP.
“We have given a letter of support”, the BJP president Ernest Mawrie said.
Conrad did not meet the waiting journalists at his residence on Thursday evening but it was conveyed that he will meet the governor at 11.30 am, on Friday.
The NPP is trying to get the support of other minor parties like PDF and HSPDP to submit the list of majority MLAs supporting the coalition after the party secured 26 states.
A member of PDF said a call came from the NPP to be part of the government but a meeting will be held to discuss the matter.
HSPDP president KP Pangniang said that the party will have to discuss before making any commitment.
