Shillong, Dec 12: A constable who was deputed for Jharkhand Assembly polls was found hanging behind a bus.
The constable, Teibor Marbaniang, was from the 6th Meghalaya Police Battalion.
Though the incident occurred on November 18 in Jharkhand, the matter came to light recently after the mother of the victim sought help from an NGO leader.
According to the FIR lodged with the police in Jharkhand , inspector MK Sangma was informed by a member of his team that the constable was found hanging with a rope behind the bus. The inspector also visited the site.
The police in Jharkhand registered an unnatural death case.
When contacted, Commandant of the 6th Battalion, Rituraj Ravi said as the case was taken up by Jharkhand police, he would wait for the outcome of the investigation.
